Application Guidelines

Application Guidelines for International Boarding Pupils

At FEYDEY we are always pleased to receive applications from students from around the world. Our International community is normally made up of around 17 different nationalities and students integrate extremely well with each other. We are very much a large family and in addition to our academic and sporting opportunities, the care of students – their wellbeing and pastoral support – is something we are most proud of.

The School is able to offer a breadth of subjects using the British Curriculum, which cover pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and A level programmes. Able students are also encouraged to consider adding an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) to add to their profile for University application. For students whose first language is not English, there is also an opportunity to receive additional support (EAL) – the level and amount of support will be determined through the assessment test and interview during the application process.

We would encourage all families to visit the School personally, but if this is not possible initially, we are happy to arrange a video call by way of introduction and familiarisation with our School before the application is formally started. Once the family is comfortable with the information provided and feels this may be the right school for them, the following actions can be taken:

In order to apply, these are the steps that need to be followed, with the help of an Agent, or directly:
· Complete an on-line Application Form, providing the full name and date of birth of the student;
· Payment of the Application Fee of 500 CHF (by bank transfer).
· Provide a copy of the student’s most recent School Report;
· Provide a copy of the student’s own Passport. (Additional passports for both parents will be required later, but can be added at this stage.)

Once we have received all these documents, these are the next stages:
· On-line Assessment Papers in Maths and English to be taken under the supervision of the Agency – a video call with our Head of EAL may also be used as part of our assessment if results indicate the need for additional English support;
· An interview by video call will be arranged by the School through the Agency, for the student to have a discussion with the Head;
· If the Head feels that the student will thrive at FEYDEY a formal Offer of a place will be made to the family, with a 14 day decision period for Acceptance of the place. (This can be extended in special circumstances.)

In order to take up the offer of a place, the School will require:
· A completed and signed Acceptance Form together with a deposit payment of 5,000 CHF. (For a one term or short stay the deposit is 2,000 CHF. The deposit will be returned when the student leaves the School, subject to all fees and expenses being paid up to date.
· A Medical form must be completed and returned with the Acceptance Form.
· The Parent copy of the School Terms & Conditions MUST be signed and returned.

On receipt of all of the above, a Welcome Pack together with all of our joining information will be sent.
